Oatmeal-Cranberry Scones

Enjoy a classic scone with a cranberry twist.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/3 cup margarine or butter
1 cup minute oats
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1 egg
1/4 cup milk

DIRECTIONS:

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon in a bowl.

Cut in margarine until mixture is in coarse crumbs.

Stir in minute oats and cranberries.

In another bowl, beat egg and add milk.

Pour into flour mixture.

Stir just until moistened.

Turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead in flour just until dough is no longer sticky (about ten times).

Press dough into an eight-inch circle.

Cut into wedges.

Place wedges on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake at 400° for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
