Free Comic Book Day
Like comic books? Then today is your lucky day! Each year the first Saturday in May is Free Comic Book Day! Not all comic book stores participate in Free Comic Book Day, so you will have to check to see if your local stores are handing out the free comics. You can look for a store near you on the official website of Free Comic Book Day.
If you have never participated in Free Comic Book Day, let me give you some tips.
Free comics are only available while supplies last.
You cannot just waltz in and pick up any comic book and declare that you want it for free. There are usually only a few titles that you can get for free. Most of the ones that will be left later in the day will be the lame ones, like Archie comic books or Disney ones. There are some pretty cool ones expected to be available like Hellboy, Salem: Queen of Thorns, Worlds of Aspen, X-Men and more.
