Today is Talk Like A Pirate Day!
Today is one of my fave days of the year. It’s International Talk Like A Pirate Day! This day was started by a couple of chumps in Portland, Oregon as a joke. Then they ended up writing humor columnist Dave Barry about it. Apparently Barry thought it was pretty funny and ran it in his syndicated column. And thus the phenomenon began. People started talking like pirates all over the world each September 19th. If you need a quick lesson in the basics of pirate talk, then check out their “How To” page for some pointers.
