Each holiday season, London’s Covent Garden has a new theme for their holiday displays. For 2010, the theme is ‘Merry Kissmas’ and features the interactive and intimate Christmas tree installation – Kiss, by Paul Cocksedge Studio.
Kiss has a special lighting sequence on Covent Garden’s 50-foot Christmas tree that can only be activated by two people kissing under the mistletoe.
For 2010, Merry Kissmas launched on November 11th with musical performances and celebrity kisses.
If you are visiting Covent Garden this holiday season, you can expect more than just the giant Christmas tree.
On Thursdays, you can see some of London’s most talented choirs in the Covent Garden Market Building.
The Covent Garden Christmas Love Market will be open every Thursday up to and including December 23rd from 11am-7pm. It will also be open the same hours on December 17th, 18th and 22nd and from 11am-5pm on December 19th. Here you can buy heart-shaped mince pies, aphrodisiac Oysters and hand-made chocolates.
Every Saturday from November 13th on the East Piazza (except December 18th when its on the West Piazza) is reindeer petting for kids. You can also pet the reindeer on December 29th.
At the Apple Market, you can get kiss-themed products this year. This open-air market features the UK’s finest craft market traders.
Other Christmas decorations you can see include a see a 32ft giant topiary reindeer and 10ft topiary candy canes.

The celebration in this historic district is really awesome every year. This year’s looks much different. The market halls have additional collections year…that’s great for shopping, right?
