The Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights at Walt Disney World
This display actually started in Oklahoma at the Osborne home 18 years ago. But by 1995, the display had relocated to Orlando. That was the first year that it was as Walt Disney World Resort and it made its first appearance at Disney-MGM Studios. If you have never been to Walt Disney World to see the Osborne Family Spectacle of lights then you are truly missing out. You can see it during the holiday season, with the 2008 holiday dates lasting from November 28, 2008 through January 4, 2009. You do have to pay for the theme park admission in order to view the holiday lights.
Christmas at SeaWorld
If you head out to SeaWorld Orlando you can enjoy festive decorations around the park. It is transformed into a classic holiday wonderland for the holiday season. This year you can see a new spectacular holiday fountain and snowfalls at the Waterfront, special yuletide shows, live holiday music from classical musicians and carolers.
Festival of Lights
You can catch the Festival of Lights in the Silver Springs area. You will be treated to millions of sparkling lights through a maze of illuminated gardens, twinkling topiaries and dozens of animated holiday scenes that come to life to delight the young and old alike. 2008 dates are November 28-29, December 5-6, 12-23 & 26-30, 2008.
Nights of Lights
If you find yourself a bit north of Orlando in St. Augustine be sure to check out Florida’s oldest city’s Nights of Lights holiday celebration. You will see over two million lights that illuminate the colonial buildings, downtown parks, and historic bay front. Catch it between November 22, 2008 – January 31, 2009.
