You may have noticed that this month seems to have a theme of reading. I did not mention it, but April 2nd was International Children’s Book Day. And you will notice other reading themed days later in the month.
But today is National Drop Everything and Read Day! Sounds like a good plan to me!
The National Drop Everything and Read Day partners are the National Education Association (NEA); Parent Teacher Association (PTA); the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association; Reading Rockets; The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC); the Newspaper Association of America Foundation (NAA); First Book; and HarperCollins Children’s Books.
If you are a book fan then you notice that today is also author Beverly Cleary’s birthday. It is not just a coincidence.
